William "Bill" Lee Schmeck and three others were charged in 1991 for illegal firearms trafficking in California. Schmeck, a U.S. Navy SEAL, along with his co-defendants, faced six felony counts after federal agents seized a large cache of weapons. They pleaded not guilty, and Schmeck's bail was set at $150,000.
