Karen Lee Barreras, a 74-year-old educator from Sparks, Nevada, has died. She had a significant career in Catholic education and was involved with the National Catholic Educational Association. Her son, Robert, an emergency management official, has been charged with her murder after allegedly abusing his position of trust. Bail is set at $2 million.
