Demare Andrew Encarnacion, a 32-year-old from Saint Thomas, is a murder suspect in the shooting death of Cecil Rudolph Scatliffe on October 13, 2024. Encarnacion was charged with first-degree murder and related offenses. After evading authorities, he turned himself in on March 18, 2025, and was arrested with a bail of $1,000,000.
Madison Ramsingh crowns Miss Universe US Virgin Islands 2024 Stephany Andujar in St. Thomas
Madison Ramsingh won the Miss U.S. Virgin Islands 2023 title on May 14, 2023. She crowned Stephany Andujar as her successor on August 18, 2024. Ramsingh represented the U.S. Virgin Islands at Miss Earth 2023, where she was unplaced. Andujar will compete in Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico.
