John Dixon Clinkscales was an American Navy veteran born in Talladega, Alabama. He was active in various organizations, served in World War II, and retired from Milliken and Company. He died in 2007 at age 82. Clinkscales was instrumental in child safety advocacy, notably through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
