Billy Jack Sanchez, 24, was arrested in Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga, Philippines on March 31, 2018, for possessing marijuana worth 941,250 Philippine pesos. He was caught with four marijuana bricks and six tubular marijuana stalks, weighing 11,170 grams. Sanchez, a resident of Timog Park Homes in Angeles, Pampanga, was detained pending a case for violating Republic Act Number 9165. Despite claims of marijuana's benefits, he faced legal consequences. In 2017, Sanchez left his job in Qatar to fight in a mixed martial arts bout against Kiko Matos, which resulted in a defeat via submission.
