Walter Martin Schnackenberg, born in Brooklyn, New York, was a U.S. Army veteran and longtime General Electric employee. He married Mary Lou, with whom he had four children. Schnackenberg passed away in 2009 at age 76. He enjoyed traveling, had eight grandchildren, and was active in the Republican National Committee.
