Currently, Puerto Rico has 26 Miss Universe placements including the coronations of Marisol Malaret Contreras in 1970, Deborah Fátima Carthy-Deu in 1985, Dayanara Torres in 1993, Denise Marie Quiñones August in 2001 and Zuleyka Jerrís Rivera Mendoza in 2006. The most recent one was in 2023 when Karla Guilfu finished in the Top 5.
Puerto Rico was represented in Miss Universe by the winner of Miss Puerto Rico from 1952 to 1998 and Miss Puerto Rico Universe from 1999 to 2002. The inaugural Miss Universe Puerto Rico was held in 2009.
Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024
The Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024 coronation ceremony will be held at the Luis A. Ferre Performing Arts Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 27, 2024. It is the 16th edition of the beauty pageant that selects Puerto Rico’s Miss Universe candidate.
There are 28 women competing for the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024 crown. I believe these five candidates will make it to the top:
