Paramount Pictures released “World Trade Center” in the United States on August 9, 2006. It is a docudrama film about the attacks al-Qaeda carried out against the United States on September 11, 2001.
Universal Records Philippines released “Relevance” on August 8, 2006. It is Gary Valenciano‘s most recent album.
“World Trade Center”
Written by Andrea Berloff and directed by Oliver Stone, ‘World Trade Center” was shot between October 2005 and February 2006. Among the main characters in the film are retired police officers John McLoughlin and Will Jimeno, who are played by Nicolas Cage and Michael Peña, respectively.
On September 1, 2001, both McLoughlin and Jimeno were trapped under the rubble of the World Trade Center in New York City, New York, USA during the attacks but were successfully rescued. Their respective wives Donna McLoughlin and Allison Jimeno are played by Maria Bello and Maggie Gyllenhaal, respectively, in the film.
Antonio Jose Rodrigues was one of the police officers killed in the attacks. In the film, he is played by Armando Riesco, a Cuban actor who grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA.
“Relevance”
Valenciano’s mother Grimilda Santiago Olmo is from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. His father Vicente Calacas Valenciano is from Camalig, Albay, Philippines.
In 1995, Gary starred in the film “Hataw Na” opposite Dayanara Torres. Representing Puerto Rico, she was third runner-up at Miss International 1992 and she won Miss Universe 1993.
In 2005, Gary released two albums namely “Soul Full” under Universal Records and “Pure Heart” under Star Music. His next album “Relevance” has three Tagalog songs and nine English songs.
