Mister International is a new international beauty pageant founded by Alan Sim. Hailing from Punggol, Singapore, he speaks Mandarin Chinese, Hokkien, Teochew, Spanish and English.

In 1988, Sim graduated from Montfort Secondary School in Hougang, Singapore. On October 8, 2006, he will turn 34.

Mister International 2006 contestants

On October 7, 2006, the Mister International 2006 coronation ceremony will be held at The Pavillion in Kallang, Singapore. It is the inaugural edition of the international competition based in the Southeast Asian country.

There are 18 men competing for the title. Here are the candidates:

Singapore

Since September 1, 1999, Sellapan Ramanathan has been the president of Singapore. On August 12, 1960, Christl D’Cruz represented the country at Miss International 1960, competed against 51 other candidates at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, United States and finished in the Top 15.

On November 18, 1976, Pauline Poh represented Singapore at Miss World 1976, competed against 59 other candidates at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, United Kingdom and finished in the Top 15. On November 4, 1980, Jennifer Liong represented Singapore at Miss International 1980, competed against 41 other candidates at the Hotel Mielparque Tokyo in Shiba Park, Tokyo, Japan and finished in the Top 10.

On July 11, 1983, Kathie Lee Lee Beng represented Singapore at Miss Universe 1983, competed against 79 other candidates at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, Missouri, USA and finished in the Top 12. On May 27, 1987, Marion Nicole Teo represented Singapore at Miss Universe 1987, competed against 67 other candidates at the World Trade Centre in Bukit Merah, Singapore and finished in the Top 10.
