Culpo was crowned Miss Universe 2012 at PH Live of the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on December 19, 2022. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were the Philippines’ Janine Tugonon, Venezuela’s Irene Esser, Australia’s Renae Ayris and Brazil’s Gabriela Markus.
