‘The Walking Dead’s’ Steven Yeun, 2NE1’s Dara play lovers in ‘Funny Or Die’ web series

The Walking Dead” actor Steven Yeun and K-Pop band 2NE1 member Sandara “Dara” Park played boyfriends and girlfriends in the “Funny Or Die” web series titled “What’s Eating Steven Yeun?” The Hollywood and K-Pop collaboration features a story of a celebrity couple played by the two, who were both born of South Korean parents.

In the web series, Yeun’s character has to leave Dara’s character in California, United States because he wants to establish his career in South Korea and he has to make it in his “parents’ home country.” In South Korea, he meets with a character played by South Korean actor Park Hyuk Kwon.

Kwon’s character uses Yeun’s character to create the ultimate star in the Korean version of food porn called mokbang. The latter makes his trip back down not long after his rise to the top.

The three-episode “Funny Or Die” web series features 2NE1’s hit songs including “Gotta Be You” and “Fire.” The skit is part of the website launch of Be FUNNY Studios, the first celebrity studio of Asia.

Based both in Seoul, South Korea and in Los Angeles, California, Be FUNNY Studios will feature Hollywood and Asian stars in English and Asian languages. This is not the first time Funny Or Die and Be Funny Studios teamed up to feature a Hollywood and K-Pop collaboration.

In 2013, Anna Kendrick and f(x) starred in a skit in which the “Pitch Perfect” actress attempts to join the K-Pop group. Earlier this year, Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow” collaborator Rita Ora and 4minute’s HyunA, the lead female dancer in the “Gangnam Style” video, starred in “Girl, You Better Walk.”

On April 8, 2014, Dara took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with Yeun. It was apparently taken when she was filming the “What’s Eating Steven Yeun?” skit with “The Walking Dead” actor.

Recently, Dara performed with her fellow 2NE1 members at the Alexander Wang event in Shanghai, China. She also celebrated her 30th birthday in the Philippines, where she started her career as a singer and actress.
