Nigeria’s 10 most handsome men alive 2016


The Federal Republic of Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and a founding member of the United Nations. The country borders Niger in the north, Chad in the northeast, Cameroon in the east and Benin in the west.

Dubbed the Giant of Africa, Nigeria is one of the largest oil producers in the world. It has a long list of breathtaking tourist spots including the Zuma Rock, the Olumo Rock, the Kano City Walls, the Awhum Waterfall, the Millenium Park, the Agodi Gardens, the Yankari Games Reserve, the Obudu Mountain Resort, the Osun Sacred Grove, the Ikogosi Cold and Warm Spring, the Mambilla Plateau, the Ibeno Beach, the Tarkwa Bay Beach and the Tinapa Free Zone and Resort.

More than 500 languages are spoken in Nigeria, which is inhabited by the Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and more than 200 other ethnic groups. To establish linguistic unity, English was chosen as the country’s official language and is widely used in many Nollywood films.

Nigeria declared independence from the United Kingdom on October 1, 1960 and became a federation on October 1, 1963. Nigeria’s incumbent, seventh and 15th president Muhammadu Buhari, 73, assumed office on May 29, 2015.
