“Love Yourself: Her” is the fifth extended play of BTS to be released by Big Hit Entertainment on September 18, , 2017 at 6:00 p.m. KST. During a press conference at Lotte Hotel Seoul in Sogong-dong, Seoul, South Korea on the release day, the K-pop boy band talked about the upcoming album.
The BTS members noted that they want to try loving this world after flying with their second Korean studio album titled “Wings,” which was released on October 10, 2016. They admitted that they were very nervous and curious about the kind of response they would get.
“Love Yourself: Her” focuses on the theme of the BTS members experiencing love for the first time. It is the first album in the BTS album series “Love Yourself,” which contains the message of love not only about personal experiences but also about reconciliation and unification toward society.
BTS leader Kim Nam Joon, who is professionally known as Rap Monster, said that “Love Yourself: Her” has a total of 11 songs. He added that he and his band mates thought that the album would become a turning point, Joy News quoted him as saying.
The other BTS members are Min Yoon Gi, Kim Seok Jin, Jung Ho Seok, Park Ji Min, Kim Tae Hyung and Jeon Heong Guk, whose respective stage names are Suga, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Whenever they are asked about their goals, they say that they want to enter the Billboard Hot 100, Yonhap News quoted Suga as saying during the press conference.
But this is not easy, Suga admitted. He said that for this to happen, many albums have to be sold, the BTS music has to be streamed a lot and there is the radio play factor.
While it is not easy, it is not impossible. Radio stations in the United States are showing interest in BTS and the music of the K-pop boy band is often being selected to be played, Suga said.
