Marshall Bruce “Eminem” Mathers III and Beyoncé Giselle “Beyoncé” Knowles-Carter are two of the top musicians of all time. The two artists, who are both using mononyms, recently collaborated on a song titled “Walk on Water.”
On November 10, 2017, Eminem released “Walk on Water” as the first single of his ninth studio album titled “Revival”. Executive produced by Andre Romelle “Dr. Dre” Young with Eminem, Rick Rubin and Skylar Grey as producers, the album will be released on November 17, 2017.
“Walk on Water” was written by Grey. The songwriter and Eminem performed the 2017 MTV Europe Music Awards at Webley Arena in London, United Kingdom on November 12, 2017.
“Knowin’ that no matter what bars I come with, you’re gonna harp, gripe and that’s a hard Vicodin to swallow so I scrap these as pressure increases like khakis,” Eminem raps in the first verse of “Walk on Water”. “I feel the ice cracking.”
The prescription drug mentioned in the lyrics is the trade name under which hyrdrocodone/paracetamol is marketed. Also known as hyrdrocodone/acetaminophen and hyrdrocodone/APAP, Vicodin is the combination of hydrocodone, paracetamol or acetaminophen and an opioid pain medication.
Aside from its medical and recreational purposes, Vicodin is used for pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as kidney and liver impairment. Used to relieve moderate to severe pain, it is easy to overdose on and it can be addictive.
In 2013, Eminem collaborated with Sia Kate Isobelle “Sia” Furler on the song “Beautiful Pain.” The song is one of the collaboration songs included in Eminem’s eighth studio album titled “The Marshall Mathers LP 2.”
