Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 22, is not only the first Asian and the youngest MMA fighter to compete for championship at Brave Combat Federation. He is also the youngest fighter to win a championship title at the MMA promotion based in the Middle East.

On Nov. 17, Friday, Loman battled it out with Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Mangat of Canada for the inaugural Brave CF Bantamweight Championship Battle. Their bout was the co-main event of “Brace CF 9: The Kingdom of Champions,” which took place at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain.

The main event was the inaugural Brave CF Lightweight Championship title bout between Ottman “Bulldozer” Azaitar of Turkey and Alejandro “Pato” Martinez of Mexico. Azaitar won via technical knockout via punches at 1:16 of Round 3.

On the other hand, Loman defeated Mangat via technical knockout via punches at 2:10 of Round 1 making the Filipino fighter the first-ever Bantamweight Champion of Brave CF. Hailing from Baguio City, Philippines, Loman belongs to Team Lakay, one of the top MMA teams in Asia.

As a professional fighter, Loman now holds a record of 9 wins, 2 losses and 0 draw while Mangat now has 10 wins, 2 losses and 0 draw. Before “Brace CF 9: The Kingdom of Champions,” Josh Gow was the only fighter to defeat Mangat making Loman the second fighter to defeat the Canadian fighter.

Currently, Loman is studying at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City. He made his professional MMA debut on Dec. 15, 2012 when he defeated Raffy Lim via technical knockout via punches at “Team Lakay Wushu Xanda- MMA Eliminations 6: Total Domination” with former UFC fighter Mark Eddiva as the referee.

On Sept. 23, Loman made his Brave CF debut at “Brave Combat Federation – Brave 1: Bahrain.” He defeated one of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s sparring partners, Frans Lambo, via unanimous decision.

Mlambo also competed at “Brace CF 9: The Kingdom of Champions.” The Irish fighter defeated Michael Deiga-Scheck via technical knockout punches in the first round.

Loman’s fellow Team Lakay fighter Jeremy “The Igorot Juggernaut” Pacatiw was in the preliminary card of “Brace CF 9: The Kingdom of Champions.” Pacatiw lost to Jalal Al Daja via technical knockout via punches at 4:19 of Round 1.

Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao accompanied Loman and Pacatiw in Bahrain for the “Brace CF 9: The Kingdom of Champions.” Loman’s victory was just a week from Team Lakay top fighter Eduard “Landslide” Folayang’s loss to newly crowned ONE Lightweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, who is also the reigning ONE Featherweight World Champion.
