A Hawaii-based Filipino actor is impressed with the humility shown by Alex O’Loughlin on the set of “Hawaii Five-0” Season 8. The latter recently reprised his role as Steve McGarett on the remake of the CBS series.
Lito Capiña, who was originally from the Philippines, has nothing but good words about the actors he met on the set of “Hawaii Five-0” Season 8. Playing a bit role on the show, the actor met O’Loughlin, Scott Caan and Beulah Koale as well as Peter Weller, the director and a former actor.
“There was Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, and a new member of the cast for the eighth season (of ‘Hawaii Five-0′),” Capiña told Conan Daily. “I approached them and asked to have their pictures taken. Alex even took the selfie shot.”
“When I told him I’m an actor from the Philippines, he said to please support and watch the series,” Capiña recalled referring to O’Loughlin. “Later, as we were ready to pack up, he remembered me and asked if the pictures turned okay. What a super down-to-earth, accommodating guy.”
During the break, Weller approached the extras and asked how they were doing and asked their names, Capiña shared. The Filipino actor said, “How cool was that? He wasn’t in a room looking at the monitor but out there with the cast and crew, hands on with what’s going on. I was very impressed.”
“And when I misplaced my bag, everyone was in their walkie-talkie trying to find it,” Capiña added. “(It was an) amazing experience. I can only wish our talents in the Philippines could experience what I did. (It) makes you feel important and gives you a sense of pride.”
Capiña is signed with the Hawaii Studio. He worked as an actor in the Philippines for several years before deciding to move to the 50th state of the United States for good.
