K-pop star Jo Wooyeop, 17, who is mononymously known as Wooyeop, recently expressed his interest in appearing on South Korean variety shows. He is one of the 10 members of the K-pop boy group TRCNG.

On January 2, 2017, TRCNG was at the YES24 Live Hall in Seoul for their show for their debut single album “Who Am I.” During the event, Wooyeop enumerated the variety shows he wanted to appear on.

Wooyeop said he liked being active so he wanted to be featured on “Running Man” and “Infinite Challenge,” All Kpop quoted him as saying. He also said he wanted to be on “Weekly Idol.”

“Running Man” has been airing on SBS since 2010 while “Infinite Challenge,” which is distributed and syndicated by MBC, has been airing since 2005. “Weekly Idol” has been airing since 2011 on MBC Every1, the cable and satellite network of MBC for comedy and variety shows.

For Wooyeop’s fellow TRCNG member Lee Hakmin, 17, who is mononymously known as Hakmin, the variety show he wanted to appear as a guest on is the JTBC show “Knowing Brothers.” They are still students so it will be fun to dress up in school uniform, Hakmin explained.

The other eight members of TRCNG are Kim Jihun, 17, Choi Ha-young, 17, Yang Tae-seon, Kim Jisung, Kim Hyun-woo, 16, Yoo Siwoo, 16, Lee Ho-hyeon, 16, and Kim Kangmin, 16. Their respective stage names are Jihun, Hayoung, Taeseon, Jisung, Hyunwoo, Siwoo, Hohyeon and Kangmin.

In 2009, Jisung shared a performance with South Korean rapper and fashion icon Kwon Ji-yong, 29, who is professionally known as G-Dragon, at the SBS Gayo Daejun. The latter and his fellow Big Bang member Taeyang are enlisting in the military before 2019, Segye quoted YG Entertainment as saying.

In 2010, Hyunwoo played the son of Cha Dae-woong (Lee Seung-gi) on the SBS romantic comedy series “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.” Seung-gi is dubbed the Ballad Prince of South Korea.

With several veteran K-pop boy groups now on hiatus, it appears that TRCNG is ready to conquer the stage. TRCNG stands for Teen Rising Champion in a New Generation.

Launched by TS Entertainment, the group debuted on October 10, 2017 with an EP titled “New Generation.” Watch the music video of their song “Spectrum” here:
