Corey Feldman: ‘A Tale of Two Coreys’ is sugarcoated

The Lifetime movie “A Tale of Two Coreys” will premiere on January 6, 2018. It is a biopic of Corey Feldman, 46, and the late Corey Haim, who were popular as child stars in the late 1980s.

Feldman and Haim met for the first time on the set of the 1987 movie “The Lost Boys.” This was followed by seven other films that featured them together.

In 2010, Haim died of pneumonia at age 38. In 2013, Feldman released a book titled “Coreyography,” in which he claimed that he and Haim were sexually abused by executives and celebrities in Hollywood.

In “A Tale of Two Coreys,” Elijah Marcano and Scott Bosely play the teen and adult versions of Feldman, respectively. Justin Ellings and Carey Leach play the teen and adult versions of Haim, respectively.

The details of the abuses Feldman claimed he and Haim had suffered from are not specified in the Lifetime movie. He told People that considering the circumstances, the network was respectful since there was much sex and drugs that were a part of the story but cannot be shown on television.

“Because it is a TV movie they couldn’t go into specifics, like when it came to who Haim’s actual abuser was, we had to sugar coat that and present it in a more TV applicable that way,” Feldman told the publication. “It’s like putting a G rating on an X-rated storyline.”

Currently, Feldman is accepting donations to fund a movie about his life, in which he promises to reveal the names of the Hollywood personalities who abused him and Haim. He publicly announced this plan after sexual abuse claims against Harvey Weistein made headlines in 2017.

On January 4, 2018, Feldman was accompanied by her wife Courtney Anne Mitchell, 26, at ArcLight Sherman Oaks in Los Angeles, California for the screening of “A Tale of Two Coreys.” He wore a hat, a pair of aviator sunglasses, a silver button-down shirt and a glittering patterned blazer while his wife wore a black mini-dress, a metallic embellished jacket and a pair of strappy heels, Daily Mail reported.

“A Tale of Two Coreys” was written by Jessica Dube, Peter Sullivan and Hanz Wasserburger. It was directed by Steven Huffaker.
