Selena Gomez, 25, is collaborating with German multinational company PUMA on a new sneaker called the Phenom Lux. The sneaker will be released on April 6, 2018.

The Phenom Lux marked Gomez’s first design collaboration with PUMA. It costs $110, according to High Snobiety.

“It has been so fun to work so closely with PUMA on the design of this shoe,” Gomez said in a statement obtained by the publication. “I’m also proud to partner with them in helping to affect lives and bring attention to a cause that is very important to me personally.”

The collaboration will benefit Lupus Research Alliance. In 2015, Gomez confirmed that she had been diagnosed with lupus.

People with lupus suffer from damages to the kidneys, lungs, joints, heart, blood and skin. This chronic autoimmune disease makes the immune system unable to differentiate between antigens and healthy tissue.

In 2017, Gomez underwent kidney transplant due to her battle with lupus. She received a donated kidney from her best friend Francia Raisa.

On March 27, 2018, Gomez was spotted at Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale, California, Just Jared Jr. reported. She was wearing a statement in a bright yellow shirt, which read, “Never underestimate the power of a woman.”

Gomez is set to star in “A Rainy Day in New York,” a romantic comedy film written and directed by Woody Allen. Among her co-stars are Timothee Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Jude Law, Diego Luna, Live Schreiber, Annaleigh Ashford, Rebecca Hall, Cherry Jones, Will Rogers, Kelly Rohrbach, Suki Waterhouse and Griffin Newman.

As a singer, Gomez has yet to release a studio album since her 2015 studio album “Revival”. It has 11 tracks including “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rocky.
