Charlie Puth wishes he wrote Sasha Sloan’s ‘Is It Just Me?’

Professionally known as Sasha SloanRussian-American singer-songwriter Alexandra Artourovna Yatchenko, 25, has released a new version of her celebrated track “Is It Just Me?” featuring Charlie Puth, 28. Prior to this, eagle-eyed fans spotted the two artists connecting on social media.

Sloan then confirmed the news that Puth has joined her on the incredibly catchy and poignantly irreverent track. The song showcases the pop songstress’s candid and witty observations and brilliantly sharp and relatable lyrics. 

Puth expressed his excitement in teaming up with Sloan on the remix of her viral lo-fi bop. He said, “I only sing on songs I didn’t write when I wish I wrote them and this is one I really wish I wrote.” 

The original version of “Is It Just Me?” is one of the 10 songs in Sloan’s debut studio album titled “Only Child,” which was released by RCA Records on October 16, 2020. The other songs are the title track, “Matter to You,” “House With No Mirrors,” “Lie,” “Hypochondriac,” “Santa’s Real,” “Someone You Hate,” “Until It Happens to You” and “High School Me.”


Sloan was born in Boston, Massachusetts, United States on March 11, 1995. Puth was born in Rumson, New Jersey, USA on December 2, 1991. 

At the age of 4, Puth started learning how to play the piano under the tutelage of his mother. On January 29, 2016, Artist Partner Group and Atlantic Records released his debut studio album “Nine Track Mind.”

Prior to “Is It Just Me?,” Puth had several collaboration songs. Among his songs in “Nine Track Mind” are “Marvin Gaye” featuring Meghan Trainor, 26, “We Don’t Talk Anymore” featuring Selena Gomez, 28, “As You Are” featuring Blake Anthony “Shy” Carter, 36, and “See You Again” featuring Cameron Jibril Thomaz, 33, who is professionally known as Wiz Khalifa.

See You Again” was commissioned for the soundtrack of the action film “Furious 7,” which hit theaters on April 3, 2015. It was a tribute to Paul Walker, who died in a single-vehicle accident in Valencia, California, USA on November 30, 2013.

Artist Partner Group and Atlantic Records released Puth’s second studio album “Voicenotes” on May 11, 2018. Among the songs in the album are “If You Leave Me Now” featuring Boyz II Men and “Done for Me” featuring Kehlani Ashley Parrish, 25, who is mononymously known as Kehlani.
