“ONE: Heroes of Honor” kicked off with the bout between Adrian Mattheis, 24, of Jakarta, Indonesia and Lan Ming Qiang of China. They competed in the strawweight division whose current champion is Alex “Little Rock” Silva of Brazil.

Fans of combat sports flocked at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on April 20, 2018. It was a historic ONE Championship event as the promotion launched its new striking martial arts league called ONE Super Series.

With Kemp Cheng as the referee, the strawweight bout between Mattheis and Lan at “ONE: Heroes of Honor” ended after three five-minute rounds. The judges gave it a unanimous decision in favor of Matheis, which marked his fifth win in the promotion.

After defeating Lan, Mattheis now has a professional mixed martial arts record of 5 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Lan’s record downgraded to 0 win and 2 losses.

Moreover, ONE Super Series was not the only thing that was launched at “ONE: Heroes of Honor.” The event also marked the first time all MMA bouts of ONE Championship took place in a five-rope ring instead of a cage.

Meanwhile, in the main event of the MMA card, Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon of the Philippines battled it out with Andrew Leone of the United States in the bantamweight division. The Filipino fighter knocked out his American opponent at 1:27 of Round 2.

In the main event of the ONE Super Series card, Giorgio Petrosyan, an Armenian kickboxer based in Italy, competed against Thai Muay Thai star “Smokin” Jo Nattawut of Thailand in a kickboxing bout in the 76 kg division. After three five-minute rounds, the judges declared the Armenian-Italian fighter as the winner via unanimous decision.
