Retiring is not one of the things Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao, 39, is contemplating at the moment. During the press conference for “Fight of Champions: Manny Pacquiao vs Lucas Matthysse,” the Filipino boxing legend explained why he is still fighting and is not planning to hang up his gloves soon.

“My time is not done yet,” Pacquiao said. “That’s what I’m trying to prove. Manny Pacquiao is not done yet in boxing.”

“Fight of Champions: Manny Pacquiao vs Lucas Matthysse” will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 15, 2018. Pacquiao will challenge World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Champion Lucas “La Maquina” Matthysse, 35, of Argentina.

Hosted by Dyan Castillejo and KC Montero, the press conference for “Fight of Champions: Manny Pacquiao vs Lucas Matthysse” took place at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila in Paranaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was attended by both Pacquiao and Matthysse’s crews.

Pacquiao was with his adviser Michael Koncz, business manager Arnold Vegafria, cornerman and best friend Buboy Fernandez and friend Chavit Singson. On the other hand, Matthysse was accompanied by his manager and promoter Mario Arano, Golden Boy Promotions CEO and president Eric Gomez, Golden Boy Promotions public relations director Ramiro Gonzalez and WBA Asia secretary-general Won Kim.

“I don’t have a prediction but I will do my best to win convincingly,” Pacquiao declared. “If I could have the chance to finish it right away, I’ll finish it.”

As if being a senator and an athlete is not demanding enough for Pacquiao, “Fight of Champions: Manny Pacquiao vs Lucas Matthysse” will mark the first time the fighting senator is assuming the roles of both a fighter and a promoter in the same event. This will be the biggest event of his company MP Promotions.

An eight-division world champion, Pacquiao currently holds a record of 59 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws. On the other hand, Matthysse has 39 wins 4 losses and 1 No Contest.
