Pakistan’s Mehmosh Raza wins 2nd Rebel FC bout at ‘Rebel FC 7: Fight for Honor’

Mehmosh “The Renegade” Raza, 23, of Islamabad, Pakistan outclassed Igor Gryckiv, 30, of Kolomyja, Ukraine at “Rebel FC 7: Fight for Honor” at Kerry Hotel in Shanghai, China on April 29, 2018. They competed in the featherweight division.

“Rebel FC 7: Fight for Honor” marked Raza’s second Rebel Fighting Championship bout. The first one was at “Rebel FC 6: China vs. The World” on September 2, 2017 at the Shenzhen Stadium in Shenzhen, China where he submitted Sima Yi of China via rear-naked choke at 4:54 of Round 1.

After three five-minute rounds at “Rebel FC 7: Fight for Honor,” the featherweight bout between Raza and Gryckiv, which was refereed by Isaac Yap, was left in the hands of the judges. The Pakistani contender was declared the winner via majority decision.

“It was a tough fight in Round 1,” Raza said. “He hits me very hard but I came back in Round 2 and dominate him on ground.”

Raza was going into the fight with a record of 6 wins and 2 losses, and now he can happily add one more to his wins. He stated, “My opponent may have more experience than me but I have 10 times more heart. I’ll be bringing glory to Pakistan with this fight.”

Considered to be more experienced than Raza, Gryckiv had 7 wins to his name and now has 3 losses in his career. According to Raza, he won the “Rebel FC 7: Fight for Honour” fight by the grace of Almighty Allah and he wanted to thank everyone from Pakistan who supported him.
