Dubbed Asia’s Pop Sweetheart, Julie Anne San Jose is back on the small screen doing what she loves, singing and acting. She plays the title character of the romantic comedy series “My Guitar Princess,” which premieres on GMA Network on May 7, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.
The story of “My Guitar Princess” revolves around Celina Raymundo (San Jose), a college student whose ultimate dream is to become a musician. With her guitar and sweet singing voice, she goes incognito in a music video, which goes viral, and her alter ego named My Guitar Princess is born.
Directed by Nick Olanka, “My Guitar Princess” also stars Gil Cuerva and Kiko Estrada, who will play Elton Smith and Justin Garcia. Both Elton and Justin will be romantically involved with Celina.
Celina’s mother Adele Raymundo (Sheryl Cruz) used to be a singer herself but due to a bitter past, the mother is not supportive of her daughter’s music aspirations. Playing Celina’s estranged (and clueless) father Elvis Soriano is Kier Legaspi.
Playing Justin’s younger sisters named Taylor Garcia and Katy Garcia are Isabella de Leon and Jazz Ocampo, respectively. Along with their nanny named Dolly (Maey Bautista), Taylor and Katy will make things difficult for Celina and Adele.
Also in the cast of “My Guitar Princess” are Marika Sasaki as Celina’s best friend Britney, Ralf King as Justin’s friend Adam, Marc Abaya as Elton’s manager Charlie, Frank Garcia as Justin, Taylor and Katy’s father George Garcia, Lui Manansala as one of the Garcias’ helpers named Barbara and Rob Sy as the Garcias’ driver named Michael.
“My Guitar Princess” is written by Jessie Villabrille, Jerome Zamora, Mario Banzon and Conan Altatis. Have a glimpse of San Jose as My Guitar Princess here:
