China’s Xie Bin earns 4th ONE Championship win at ‘ONE: Unstoppable Dreams’ in Singapore

On May 18, 2018, ONE Championship was in its home country Singapore for “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams,” which featured both mixed martial arts and ONE Super Series bouts. The second bout of the evening was an MMA bout between Huang Shi Hao of Singapore and Xie Bin of China in the bantamweight division.

Referee Olivier Coste put a stop to the bantamweight bout between Huang and Xie at 2:26 of Round 2. The Chinese contender was declared the winner via technical knockout via corner stoppage.

This is the fourth time Xie won inside the ONE Championship cage. When he made his promotional debut on July 1, 2016 at “ONE: Dynasty of Champions,” he defeated Ma Shuang, who is also from China, via split decision but in the same event on the same day, he also had his first loss in the promotion after losing to his fellow Chinese fighter Yayong Wang via unanimous decision.

On August 27, 2016, Xie lost to Casey Suire of the United States at “ONE: Titles and Titans” via split decision. on December 2, 2016, Xie redeemed himself by winning at “ONE: Age of Domination” via unanimous decision over Mario Satya Wirawan of Indonesia.

On April 21, 2017, Xie faced Chan Rothana of Cambodia at “ONE: Kings of Destiny.” The Chinese fighter submitted his Cambodian opponent via Brabo choke.

After beating Huang at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams,” Xie improved his record to 4 wins and 2 losses. On the other hand, Huang, who made his promotional debut and professional MMA debut, now has 0 win and 1 loss.

Three belts were at stake at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams,” which took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Kallang, Singapore. There were two co-main events prior to the main event.

In the first co-main event, Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen of Australia and Vietnam successfully defended his ONE Featherweight World Champion title from Christian “The Warrior” Lee of Singapore. The Vietnamese-Australian champion won via split decision.

In the second co-main event, Sam-a Gaiyanghadao of Thailand and Sergio Wielzen of the Netherlands competed for the inaugural ONE Super Series Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship. The Thai martial arts veteran won via knockout in the second round.

In the main event, Angela “Unstoppable” Lee of Singapore defended her ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion title from Mei “V.V.” Yamaguchi of Japan in a rematch. The Singaporean champion kept the title and her undefeated record by defeating her Japanese challenger via unanimous decision.
