Kevin Aguilar knocks out Thanh Le, keeps LFA Featherweight Champion belt

The Legacy Fighting Alliance was at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas on May 25, 2018 for its 41st event titled “LFA 40.” In the main event, reigning LFA Featherweight Champion Kevin “The Angel of Death” Aguilar, 29, faced reigning Interim LFA Featherweight Champion Thanh Le, 32, for a title unification bout.

Referee Aaron Menard put a stop to the featherweight championship bout between Aguilar and Le at 2:44 of Round 1. With a three-punch combination, Aguilar knocked out Le via punches.

Fighting out of Longview, Texas, Aguilar improved his professional mixed martial arts record to 14 wins and 1 loss after defeating Le. On the other hand, Le’s record downgraded to 8 wins and 2 losses.

Le is a Vietnamese-American martial artist fighting out of Metairie, Louisiana. In 2015, he competed in the UFC cage, defeating Andres “The Bullet” Quintana, 26, but losing to Martin Svensson, 33, at “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 22.

On February 10, 2017, Le made his LFA debut at “LFA 3” where he knocked out Alex “bet On” Black, 30, via kick to the body and punches. Aguilar was the third opponent he faced in the LFA cage.

“LFA 40” was the 400th show broadcast on AXS TV. It marked Aguilar’s third LFA bout.

The only opponent Aguilar failed to beat in a professional MMA bout was Leonard “Bad Boy” Garcia, 38. On December 6, 2013, Garcia knocked out Aguilar via punches at “LFC 26.”

Aguilar competed in six Legacy Fighting Championship bouts. In his first LFA bout, which was the main event of “LFA 4” on February 17, 2017, he became the inaugural featherweight champion of the promotion after knocking out Damon “The Leech” Jackson, 29, via punches.

On August 4, 2017, Aguilar successfully defended the title from Justin “Darth” Rader, 31, at “LFA 18.” Le became the interim champion on January 19, 2018 after knocking out Bobby “The Wolfman” Moffett, 27, via punches at “LFA 31.”
