In the main event of “Brave 13: Europe Evolution” on June 9, 2018 at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Frans Mlambo from Straight Blast Gym Ireland will challenge reigning Brave Combat Federation Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman from Team Lakay. The fight marks the second time the two fabled gyms from Europe and Asia are tested against each other.
By far, Loman and Mlambo are the most successful Brave CF fighters from their respective fight teams and their upcoming rematch is not only a clash of two of the best bantamweight prospects in the world. It is also a contest between the top fight teams in Asia and Europe and two of the geniuses who had made their mark as MMA coaches.
The “Brave 13: Europe Evolution” main event will feature contrasting fight teams trained by two of the greatest minds in mixed martial arts today. It will be a showdown between Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao and SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh, two of the top MMA coaches in the world.
Both coaches were successful in highlighting their respective nations in the MMA world. While prospects trained by Kavanagh had found success in Bellator MMA and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Sangiao had made his mark in ONE Championship with the athletes he had trained.
However, Sangiao and Kavanagh are struggling to replicate the same level of success they had previously found in Brave CF. Recently, fighters from their fight teams faced shocking upsets in the promotion.
The first clash between Loman and Mlambo resulted in Team Lakay gaining the upper hand. Loman won the bout between him and Mlambo at “Brave 1: The Beginning” on September 23, 2016 by unanimous decision.
