After losing to Robin “The Ilonggo” Catalan, 27, of Philippines at “ONE: Iron Will” on March 24, 2018, Kritsada “Dream Man” Kongsrichai, 26, of Thailand will face Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado, 25, of the Philippines at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior.” Between these two mixed martial arts events, the Thai fighter won the gold medal at the Thailand Wrestling Championship 2018.

“I am so happy that I won the gold medal,” Kongsrichai stated. “It is the ultimate assurance to myself that my competitive spirit is on the right track.”

Armed with renewed drive to compete, Kongsrichai turns his attention to MMA once again, aiming to reinsert his name into the winner’s column. His bout against Miado will be the first match at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior,” which will take place at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on June 29, 2018.

“I will do my best,” Kongsrichai declared. “I’m ready for Jeremy Miado both physically and mentally.”

While Kongsrichai is coming out of a loss to a Filipino opponent, Miado is coming out of a victory over a Thai opponent. Miado knocked out former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong “Kru Rong” Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 39, of Thailand at 1:21 of Round 1 at “ONE: Iron Will.”

“Jeremy Miado is a good striker,” Kongsrichai commented. “He knocked out a legend in Muay Thai like Dejdamrong three months ago. It’s going to be tough for me, but I believe in my ability.”

Like many, if not all, ONE Championship athletes, Kongsrichai has no time to be complacent. According to him, training is very tough as usual.

“We are drilling very hard each and every day,” Kongsrichai said. “I am still working on all areas, be it my striking or my grappling. I want to win this for the people who supported me in my heart-rending loss last March.”

Kongsrichai expects a challenging cage encounter against Miado. If the Thai contender wins at “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior,” he will be one step closer to his ultimate goal of vying for the ONE Strawweight World Championship.

“My focus is to be a ONE World Champion at least one time in my life,” Kongsrichai shared. “I am fighting as a strawweight, the same weight class as Dejdamrong, and I want to go and bring that belt back to Thailand.”

On June 27, 2018, Kongsrichai and Miado had their face-off during the “ONE: Spirit of a Warrior” press conference on June 27, 2018 at the Pullman Yangon Centrepoint Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. It was attended by ONE Championship chief commercial officer Jack Lim.
