Petchdam Kaiyanghadao of Bangkok, Thailand and Josh “Timebomb” Tonna of Canberra, Australia are scheduled to fight on July 13, 2018 at “ONE: Pursuit of Power.” It will be the first time for both martial artists to compete in ONE Super Series, the striking-only league of ONE Championship.

Taking place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, “ONE: Pursuit of Power” will feature 10 bouts. Out of the 10 matches on the card, seven are mixed martial arts bouts and three are striking-only contests.

“ONE: Pursuit of Power” will kick off with a Muay Thai contest between Petchdam and Tonna. They will battle it out in the flyweight division, which is currently dominated by reigning ONE Super Series Muay Thai Flyweight World Champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao of Thailand and Singapore.

The second bout on the ONE Super Series card will be a kickboxing match between Sergej Maslobojev of Lithuania and Florent Kaouachi of France. They will compete in the middleweight division.

Another Muay Thai contest will entertain the crowd at the Axiata Arena when “Smokin” Jo Nattawut of Thailand and Yohann Fairtex Drai of France face each other in the featherweight division. It will be the ninth bout and co-main event of the evening.

ONE Championship has yet to have an event solely headlined by a ONE Super Series bout. When Sam-A became the ONE Super Series Muay Thai Flyweight World Champion at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” on May 18, 2018 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, it was also the co-main event of the evening.

Tonna is no stranger to becoming a champion, as well. In November 2014, he was crowned the International Sports Kickboxing Association (ISKA) K1 Featherweight World Champion by conquering David “Sanchai” Aung of New Zealand at “The Return of Bangin’ Ben Edwards” at the Hellenic Club in Canberra.

Also highly competitive, Petchdam competed against Markus Kalberg of Norway in a Muay Thai contest at Topking World Series’s “MONO29 Topking WorldSeries 2018 Ayothaya – A Fight to Honor Nai Kanom Tom” in Ayutthaya Province, Thailand on March 17, 2018. The Thai martial artist won via majority decision.

Meanwhile, here is a recap of the most recent ONE Champion event, which took place at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar:
