When fight fans hear the words ONE Championship, the first thing that comes to their minds is mixed martial arts. Earlier this year, the organization added kickboxing and Muay Thai in its menu through its striking-only league called ONE Super Series.

Before the year ends, ONE Championship will add yet another exciting ingredient in its menu, which is boxing. On July 9, 2018 during the “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” press conference at the W Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong made the big announcement.

“This coming October, Thailand will host the biggest event in martial arts history as talented athletes from boxing, mixed martial arts and Muay Thai will join together under one roof in celebrating Asia’s greatest cultural treasure,” Sityodtong stated. “ONE Championship will create an indelible legacy on 6 October.”

Sityodtong also announced that ONE Championship has partnered with Nakornloung Promotion to co-promote the “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” bout of Srisaket. Since 2017, the Thai boxer has been reigning as the World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Flyweight Champion, a title he also held from 2013 to 2014.

Putting together MMA, Muay Thai and boxing in the same event, “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” marks another milestone for ONE Championship. Confirmed to the on the fight card are Thai MMA fighters Shannon “OneShin” Wiratchai, 29, and Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, 29, as well as Thai martial artists Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, 33, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, 32, and Petchmorrakot Wor.
