Philippines vs Korea: Trestle Tan, Park Dae Sung to compete at ‘ONE: Pursuit of Power’

On July 13, 2018, ONE Championship will return to the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for “ONE: Pursuit of Power.” Included on the card are one Filipino fighter and one South Korean fighter, who will compete in a catch weight of 80kg.

Trestle “Jun Minion” Tan, 32, of Manila, Philippines is returning to the ONE Championship cage as he faces “Crazy Dog” Park Dae Sung, 25, of Seoul, South Korea at “ONE: Pursuit of Power.” Their catchweight bout will be the first bout of the evening.

“ONE: Pursuit of Power” marks the fourth ONE Championship bout of Tan. When he made his promotional debut at “ONE: Dynasty of Champions 4” on November 21, 2015, he was knocked out by Jeff Huang of Taipe, Taiwan via punches.

On February 20, 2016, Tan redeemed himself by submitting Djatmiko Waluyo via rear-naked choke at “ONE: Tribe of Warriors.” But on September 2, 2016, the Filipino fighter was submitted by Agilan “Alligator” Thani, 22, of Kuala Lumpur.

Tan went on hiatus after losing to Thani. The former currently holds a professional MMA record of 4 wins and 6 losses.

On the other hand, Park has 7 wins, 2 losses and 1 No Contest. Technically, “ONE: Pursuit of Power” marks his second outing in ONE Championship.

On March 31, 2018, Park competed in the first season of the ONE Championship show “Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series” Season 1. In the show, the Korean fighter knocked out Kimihiro Eto, 29, of Japan.

Including the catchweight bout between Park and Tan, “ONE: Pursuit of Power” will feature 11 bouts. In the main event, Thani will compete against Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam, 27, of Sweden in the welterweight division.

“Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series” Season 1 marked the second time Park won via technical knockout. Watch his bout against Eto here:
