Italy vs Canada: Danyel Pilo, Jeremy Kennedy to headline ‘Brave 14’ in Morocco

Brave Combat Federation has confirmed the headliners at “Brave 14.”  Danyel Pilo, 30, of Lavagna, Genoa, Italy and Jeremy “JBC” Kennedy, 25, of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada will compete in the main event of the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion’s 14th event.

Both Pilo and Kennedy are making a Brave CF debut at “Brave 14,” which will take place in Tangier, Morocco on August 8, 2018. It will be a historical day in the world of combat sports as it is the first MMA event by a global promotion to take place in Africa.

Pilo is currently riding a four-bout winning streak. The last time he lost in the cage was on May 30, 2015 when he was knocked out at “Venator FC: Guerrieri Italiani Finals” by his fellow Italian fighter Ouardia Tergui, 26.

This made Tergui the first and still the only fighter to defeat Pilo. After the loss, Pilo submitted Ashley Rosi of Italy at “Venator FC- VCE” on February 4, 2017 and Mahmoud Deyab of Egypt at “The Golden Cage” on May 13, 2017 and knocked out Luca “Shoto” Puggioni, 25, of Italy at “Venator FC 3” on May 21, 2016 and Dragan “Little Wonder” Pesic, 34, of Serbia at “The Golden Cage 2” on June 9, 2018.

Currently, Pilo holds a professional MMA record of `10 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Kennedy has 11 wins and 1 loss.

Kennedy was an undefeated fighter from 2013 to 2017 and he had his first loss in his most recent. From 2016 to 2017, he defeated three opponents in Ultimate Fighting Championship.

All via unanimous decision, Kennedy defeated his fellow Canadian fighter Alessandro “Alex” Ricci, 35, on August 27, 2016 at “UFC on Fox 21,” Rony Mariano “Jason” Bezerra, 34, of Brazil on March 11, 2017 at “UFC Fight Night 106” and Kyle “Crash” Bochniak, 31, of the United States on July 22, 2017 at “UFC on Fox 25.” But on February 10, 2018, Kennedy was knocked out by Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski, 29, of Australia at “UFC 221.”

Aside from the main event, two matches have been confirmed to be on the “Brave 14” card. Felipe Efrain, 24, of Brazil and Arnold “Silverback” Quero, 30, of France will compete in the bantamweight division while Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 21, of the U.S. will face Abdoul “Sinstro” Abdouraguimov, 22, of France in the welterweight division.
