Featuring 11 bouts, “ONE: Reign of Kings” is the third of the four ONE Championship events scheduled in the Philippines in 2018. On the fight card were eight mixed martial arts bouts and three matches under the promotion’s striking-only league ONE Super Series.
The third bout of the evening was a striking bout between Chamuaktong Fightermuaythai, 29, of Thailand and Brown Pinas, 25, of the Netherlands. They competed in a catch weight of 70.6 kg in a Muay Thai contest in ONE Super Series.
At “ONE: Reign of Kings,” Chamuaktong showcased his world-class striking skills, which was enough to get the nod of all the three judges. He was able to conquer Pinas although the Dutch striker had the height and reach advantage.
“ONE: Reign of Kings” marked the ONE Super Series debut of both Chamuaktong and Pinas. In their three-round bout, the Thai contender Chamuaktong dazzled, putting his treacherous Muay Thai clinch game on full display.
Chamuaktong conquered Pinas by connecting on a plethora of elbows and knees from close quarters. After three rounds, the Thai fighter had his hand raised by referee Atsushi Onari as the winner via unanimous decision.
By defeating Pinas at “ONE: Reign of Kings,” Chamuaktong improved his professional record to 145 wins, 34 losses and 1 draw. He is a former Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion while Pinas is a two-time European Kickboxing Champion.
The press conference for “ONE: Reign of Kings” took place at the City of Dreams Manila in Paranaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines on July 24, 2018. The fight night took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila on July 27, 2018.
