Fighting out of France but originally from Dagestan, Russia, Abdoul “Sinistro” Abdouraguimov, 22, is set to show fight fans what Dagestani fighters are made of. Prior to his bout at “Brave 14,” he left a strong message to his American opponent.
Abdouraguimov will make his Brave Combat Federation debut at “Brave 14,” which will take place at the Omnisport Indoor Club in Tangier, Morocco on August 18, 2018. He will compete in the welterweight division against Sidney “The All-American Kid” Wheeler, 21, of Dalton, Georgia, United States.
“My opponent seems to be a good striker,” Abdouraguimov said of Wheeler. “But I am confident to finish my opponent and it is my mission to finish my opponent.”
Abdouraguimov is a national Jiu-Jitsu champion in France. As an undefeated professional mixed martial artist, he is slightly more favored by fans in his upcoming bout at “Brave 14” than his opponent.
“I will make my debut at Brave Combat Federation in a historic event,” Abdouraguimov stated. “(It is) historic because we are heading to create the first global mixed martial arts event in the continent of Africa. My preparation goes well.”
On the other hand, Wheeler is a state champion in kickboxing. He is currently undergoing training in Dalton under his head coach Chet Blalock.
On March 2, 2018, Wheeler proved his skills against Pawel Kielek, 22, of Olsztyn, Poland in Amman, Jordan at “Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises.” After losing to Wheeler, the Polish contender made a mark in Brave CF by defeating former UFC fighter Mehdi “The Sultan” Baghdad, 33, of France at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The welterweight bout between Abdouraguimov and Wheeler will be the co-main event of “Brave 14,” which ignites the rivalry between the U.S. and Russia in mixed martial arts. It is highly anticipated as fight fans are looking forward to seeing the clash between the traditional American style of wrestling pitted against the Dagestani force.
Headlining “Brave 14” are Jeremy “JBC” Kennedy, 25, of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and Danyel Pilo, 30, of Lavagna, Genoa, Italy. They will compete in the featherweight division.
