The championship title at the flyweight division of Brave Combat Federation is currently vacant. One of the fighters aiming to become the division’s first ever champion is Velimurad Alkhasov, 27, who hails from Grozny, Chechen Republic, Russia.

Alkhasov is the 2016 Combat Sambo World Champion and a former ACB Flyweight Champion. He is currently undefeated as a professional mixed martial artist with 4 wins and 0 loss.

The undefeated Russian MMA fighter believes that Brave CF is building up one of the best flyweight divisions in the MMA industry and the coming fights will be challenging and demanding. He is scheduled to make his debut in the Bahrain-based promotion at “Brave 14” on August 18, 2018.

“Brave 14” will take place at the Omnisports Indoor Club in Tangier, Morocco. In the fifth bout of the evening, Alkhasov and Sean “Shorty Rock” Santella, 33, of Whippany, New Jersey, United States will compete in the flyweight division.

“I have a tough and interesting fight (ahead),” Alkhasov stated. “This will bring more attention and value towards the growing flyweight division.”

“The fight will speak for itself and the result is the ultimate statement,” the undefeated Russian fighter continued. “I am here to win and claim the championship title when it will be introduced. The flyweight division needs a champion and it will be me.”

A submission expert, Santella is one of the most experienced fighters in the flyweight division. His bout against Alkhasov will be the ultimate showdown between a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert and a Sambo world champion.

“My opponent is experienced,” Alkhasov said of Santella. “However, my training was so excellent. That gives me an added advantage.”

Under the renowned coach Emiragaev Esedulla, Alkhasov has been preparing for “Brave 14” in Dagestan, Russia, which is home to several undefeated fighters such as reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov, 29. Considered as one of the biggest names in MMA, Esedulla has mentored and trained world-class athletes including Nurmagomedov.

At “Brave 14,” Alkhasov,  Ikram Aliskerov, 25, and Artur “Tornado” Guseynov, 34, will fight out of Dagestan. Meanwhile, here are other latest news from Brave CF:
