Michael Dasmarinas to face Ghana’s undefeated boxer Manyo Plange at Marina Bay Sands on Sept. 29

06 SEPTEMBER 2018 – SINGAPORE: Ringstar Boxing, Asia’s fastest growing sports media property, is all set for “Roar of Singapore V-The Kings of Lion City,” which will be held on September 29, 2018 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. On the fight card is a bout between Michael “Gloves on Fire” Dasmarinas, 26, of Camarines Sur, Philippines and Manyo “Black Flash” Plange, 30, of Accra, Ghana.

Plange is an undefeated fighter. He currently holds a professional boxing record of 17 wins and 0 loss.

On the other hand, Dasmarinas has 26 wins and 2 losses. He is the reigning International Boxing Organization World Bantamweight Champion and is ranked number 1 by the IBO, number 5 by World Boxing Council and number 6 by the International Boxing Federation.

On April 20, 2018, Dasmarinas had an impressive win against his previous opponent French boxer Karim Guerfi, 31, in Singapore. The Filipino boxer won the IBO World Bantamweight title, winning via knockout 40 seconds into the fourth round of what was supposed to be a 12-round fight.

Excited po ako lumaban ulit,” (I am excited to fight again), Dasmarinas stated. “Sana bukas na ang laban ko.  Bilang isang boxer, pinagbubutihan ko ang training ko sa nalalapit na laban na ito.” (I wish the fight were tomorrow already.  As a boxer, I am I’m training very hard for this next fight.)

For “Roar of Singapore V-The Kings of Lion City,” Dasmarinas trained in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, Japan for three weeks. He said, “Kasing tindi ng huli kong training ang ginagawa ko pero ngayon mas gusto ko pa patunayan ang sarili ko bilang isang IBO World Bantamweight champion.” (I’m training as hard as the last time but now I want to prove myself even more as a boxer especially now that I have the IBO World Bantamweight belt with me.)

At sana sa mga tagasubaybay ko, pagpatuloy ninyo ang inyong suporta at dasal na manalo tayo,” the Filipino boxer added. “Sa mga Pinoy, lalo na po yun mga nasa Singapore, suportahan ninyo ang laban ko. Sisiguraduhin kong manalo para sa bayan. Para sa Pilipinas ito!” (To my fans, please keep on supporting me and praying for our win. To the Filipinos, especially those in Singapore, please come and support my fight. I will make sure I will win for our motherland. This is for the Philippines!)

Featuring nine bouts, “Roar of Singapore V-The Kings of Lion City” marks the first co-promotion between Marina Bay Sands and Ringstar Boxing, which is Asia’s fastest growing sports media property. Headlining “Roar of Singapore V-The Kings of Lion City” are Muhamad “The Chosen Wan” Ridhwan, 30, of Singapore and Paulus “The Rock” Ambunda, 38, of Namibia, who will compete for the IBO World Super Bantamweight title. Reigning as the IBO Intercontinental Featherweight champion, the former is the only undefeated boxer of Singapore while his Namibian opponent is a former World Boxing Organization World Champion and a former two-time IBO World champion.

Also competing at “Roar of Singapore V-The Kings of Lion City” are Malaysian boxers IBO Oceania Welterweight champion Keng “The Mean Machine” Fai, 23, and WBC Asia Continental Light Heavyweight Champion Mirage “Miracle” Khan, 28. Their respective opponents are Abdelelah Karroum, 25, of France and former IBO Oceania Super Middleweight champion Jonathan Taylor, 30, of New Zealand.

Ridhwan and Karroum are undefeated boxers. The Singaporean champ has 11 wins and 0 loss while the French boxer has 3 wins and 0 loss.
