Matsushima made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the eighth bout of the evening, he competed against former ONE Featherweight World Champion Marat “Cobra” Gafurov, 33, of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia in the featherweight division.
Referee Yuji Shimada put a stop to the featherweight bout between Matsushima and Gafurov at 2:41 of Round 1. The Japanese ONE Championship debutante knocked out his Russian opponent.
Winning at “ONE: Conquest of Heroes” improved Matsushima’s professional MMA record to 10 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Gafurov’s record downgraded to 16 wins and 2 losses.
