ONE Championship’s first sanda contest features Pakistan’s Shahzaib Rindh vs China’s Feng Lei

After the inaugural boxing bout in ONE Championship under its striking-only league ONE Super Series, sanda will make its debut in the martial arts organization. Competing in the organization’s first ever sanda contest are Shahzaib Rindh of Pakistan and “Silver Wolf” Feng Lei, 23, of China.

On November 9, 2018, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Heart of the Lion” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. It will be the organization’s second and final event in the country in 2018.

In the fourth bout of the evening, Rindh and Feng will make history as the first two fighters to compete in a sanda contest in ONE Championship. They will compete in the featherweight division.

Prior to “ONE: Heart of the Lion,” Rindh has represented Pakistan in international competitions. He is an international gold medalist and a three-time national champion.

Rindh started his wushu training when he was 9 years old. He is the reigning West Asia Kickboxing Welterweight Champion.

Before joining ONE Super Series, Feng has competed in Kunlun Fight and Glory Kickboxing. Among the opponents he faced were Wensheng Zhang of China, David Calvo of Spain, Yohann Drai of France, Kenta Yamada of Japan and Sasa Jovanovic of Austria.

Feng was the All China Sanda Institute League 70 kg Champion in 2014 and the Silk Road Hero Championship 65 kg 8-men Champion in 2016. He won his Kunlun Fight bouts in China in 2017 in the 65 kg division in Chongqing and in the 67 kg division in Beijing, respectively.

Including Feng, there are three Chinese fighters competing in MMA bouts at “ONE: Heart of the Lion.” In the second bout of the evening, Xie Bin of China will face Hisyam Samsudin of Malaysia in bantamweight division.

In the main event, ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 20, of Singapore will challenge ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, 30, of China. This the first time two female reigning world champions are fighting each other in ONE Championship.

On the other hand, Rindh will be the only Pakistani competing at “ONE: Heart of the Lion.” Get to know more about him here:
