Razer is one of the top industry players that have entered into partnership memorandum of understanding with ONE eSports to lead Asia’s eSports industry together. A joint venture of ONE Championship and Dentsu Inc., the largest global eSports Championship Series in Asia will make its debut in 2019.

“Like Razer, ONE Championship is at the forefront of a new digital entertainment revolution that delivers the sporting content that millennials hunger for, whether online or offline,” Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan stated. “This partnership will see us combining our respective areas of expertise and deliver unmatched cross-boundary experiences to our fans.”

Tan established Razer with Robert Krakoff in 2005. ONE eSports will work with the world’s leading lifestyle brand for gamers to leverage its ecosystem of hardware, software and services.

As a pioneer in the eSports industry, Razer will provide its expertise and leadership to develop, manage and organize an eSports tournament or series in partnership with ONE eSports. Its portfolio company eSports Mogul will provide the technical know-how and innovation for the development of an online platform to organize, manage, and stage online eSports events and tournaments.

ONE eSports and Razer will explore joint marketing opportunities using Team Razer eSports athletes and ONE Championship athletes to drive communication and engagement to all martial arts fans and gamers across Asia. Razer Pay will serve as the payment platform for the ticketing of ONE eSports tournaments, as well as for the online sale of related merchandise and content.

On November 7, 2018, ONE Championship launched ONE eSports during the “ONE: Heart of the Lion” press conference at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore. The event was attended by ONE Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong and recently signed ONE Championship athlete and pound-for-pound mixed martial arts king Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, who was appointed as the ONE eSports chief brand ambassador.

Johnson also attended the “ONE: Heart of the Lion” fight night on November 9, 2018 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. In the main event of the evening, Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, 31, of the Philippines became the new ONE Bantamweight World Champion by dethroning Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes, 38, of Brazil.
