Texas vs Illinois: Chas Skelly, Bobby Moffett fight at ‘UFC Fight Night 139’ in Colorado

The Ultimate Fighting Championship held “UFC Fight Night 139” at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, United States on November 10, 2018. The fight card featured 12 mixed martial arts matches, three of which were female matches.

In the fifth bout of the evening, two American MMA fighters battled it out in the featherweight division. Chas “The Scrapper” Skelly, 33 of Arlington, Texas, United States faced Bobby “The Wolfman” Moffett, 28, of Homewood, Illinois, United States.

Blue Corner

Skelly was born in Bedford, Texas on May 11, 1985. He is representing Team Takedown.

The Texan MMA fighter previously competed in Bellator MMA. “UFC Fight Night 139” marked his 10th bout in the UFC.

Red Corner

Moffett previously competed in Legacy Fighting Alliance and Resurrection Fighting Alliance. He trains at the MMA Lab in Phoenix, Arizona under the tutelage of John Crouch.

The Illinois resident has been competing professionally since 2013. “UFC Fight Night 139” marked his first official bout in the UFC after his successful bout in Dana White’s Contender Series.

Fight Result

Referee Tim Mills put a stop to the featherweight bout between Skelly and Moffett at 2:43 of Round 2. The fighter from Illinois submitted his Texan opponent via Brabo choke.

Winning at “UFC Fight Night 139” improved Moffett’s professional MMA record to 14 wins and 3 losses. He is now riding a four-bout winning streak.

On the other hand, Skelly now has 17 wins and 4 losses. He has 6 wins and 4 losses in the UFC.

“UFC Fight Night 139” Main Events

In the co-main event of the evening, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, 35, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States and Mike “Platinum” Perry, 27, of Orlando, Florida, United States battled it out in the welterweight division. The fighter from Albuquerque submitted his opponent from Orlando via armbar at 4:46 of Round 1.

In the main event, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, 31, of Seoul, South Korea and Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez, 26, of Chicago, Illinois, United States competed in the featherweight division. The American contender knocked out his Korean opponent via elbow at 4:59 of Round 5.
