More than a month after training with Borneo Tribal Squad founder AJ “Pyro” Lias Mansor, 43, in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado, 25, of Marikina City, Metro Manila, Philippines earned his second victory in ONE Championship. The Filipino mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” on November 23, 2018.
In September 2018, Miado spent two weeks in Malaysia to train with Mansor. The former was in the corner of the latter, who was one of the five Filipino athletes on the “ONE: Conquest of Champions” card.
Featuring eight mixed martial arts matches, two Muay Thai bouts and two kickboxing contests, “ONE: Conquest of Champions” took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It was the fourth and last ONE Championship event to be held in the country in 2018.
In the third bout of the evening, Miado faced Peng Xue Wen, 22, of Zhongshan, Guangdong, China in the strawweight division. The Filipino fighter sent the crowd into a frenzy with a second-round technical knockout victory over his Chinese opponent.
Miado looked to trade hands early on, clipping Peng with solid punches from different angles. With the Chinese fighter opting to continue exchanging strikes in the second round, the Filipino fighter capitalized on the opportunity, dropping his opponent to the mat with a stinging right uppercut and then drilling a barrage of follow-up blows to force the stoppage.
Winning at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” improved Miado’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 3 losses. He earned his first victory in ONE Championship on March 24, 2018 when he knocked out former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong “Kru Rong” Sor Amnuaysirichoke, 40, of Trang, Thailand via punch at “ONE: Iron Will” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
