Representing Team Oyama MMA and Fitness of Irvine, California, United States, Louis “Da Las Samurai” Smolka, 27, has earned his sixth victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was one of the winners at “UFC Fight Night 141,” which marked the first event of the American mixed martial arts promotion in Beijing, China.
At “UFC Fight Night 141,” Smolka and “Tibetan Eagle” Su Mudaerji, 22, of Aba, Sichuan, China battled it out in the bantamweight division. The latter is training out of Enbo Gedou in Chengdu, Sichuan.
Referee Thomas Fan put a stop to the bantamweight bout between Smolka and Su after 2 minutes and 7 seconds in the second round. The American contender submitted his Chinese opponent via armbar.
Winning at “UFC Fight Night 141” improved Smolka’s professional MMA record to 15 wins and 5 losses. The Team Oyama fighter is now riding a four-bout winning streak.
On the other hand, Su now has 9 wins and 3 losses. He is riding a two-bout losing streak.
It was a redemptive win for Smolka, who spent almost a year outside the UFC. The first five opponents he defeated in the promotion are Alptekin “The Turkish Delight” Ozkilic, 32, of Long Island, New York, United States, Ricki “Vas” Vaculik, 35, of Maroubra, New South Wales, Australia, Neil “2 Tap” Seery, 39, and Patrick ‘The Hooligan” Holohan, 30, of Dublin, Ireland and Ben “10” Nguyen, 30, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States.
The UFC held “UFC Fight Night 141” at the Cadillac Arena in Beijing on November 24, 2018. In the co-main event of the evening, Alistair Overeem knocked out Sergey Pavlovich via punches after 4 minutes and 21 seconds in the first round.
The main event featured the rematch between Francis “The Predator” Ngannou, 32, of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States and Curtis “Razor” Blaydes, 27, of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Their first encounter on April 10, 2016 at “UFC Fight Night 86” in Zagreb, Croatia ended in a second-round technical knockout victory of the former, who is of Cameroonian and French descent.
At “UFC Fight Night 141,” Ngannou defeated Blaydes for the second time. The Cameroonian-French fighter knocked out his American opponent via punches after 45 seconds in the first round.
