Professionally known as Key, Kim Ki Bum, 27, has released his debut studio album as a solo artist. He is one of the four members of the K-Pop boy band SHINee, which was formed by SM Entertainment in 2008.
SHINee originally had five members. On December 18, 2017, the group’s main vocalist Kim Jong Hyun, who was professionally known as Jonghyun, committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.
SM Entertainment released Key’s first ever solo album titled “Face” on November 26, 2018. Both a noun and a verb, the title suits the character of the South Korean singer who played the main character Gong Kyung Soo in the MBC series “The Guardians.”
Most of the 10 tracks in “Face” are electronic dance music (EDM). This gives new colors to Key as SHINee rarely explored the genre.
One of the EDM songs in “Face” is its sixth track titled “Chemicals.” It was produced by American producers Sonny John Moore, 30, who is professionally known as Skrillex, and Valentino Khan, 31.
Key wrote four of the songs in “Face.” One of these is the seventh track titled “I Will Fight” featuring Lee Byung Jae, 18, who is professionally known as Vinxen.
The lead track of “Face” is a sentimental R&B song titled “One of Those Nights” featuring R&B and hip hop singer Shin Hyo Seob, 26, who is professionally known as Crush. It is a breakup song decorated with house music beats and acoustic guitar sounds.
With the release of “Face,” Key is expected to have a very busy schedule ahead. As an actor, he is also active both on the big screen and the small screen.
“I haven’t seen many entertainers who could juggle a music career with TV shows, film and TV drama, so I wanted to prove that I can do that,” Yonhap News quoted Key as saying. “I wanted to be someone who could juggle all those things at the same time.”

It’s really unnecessary to write Jonghyun passing details since the article isn’t about Key’s new album.
