Training out of Sampuri Muay Thai Gym Ampang, Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Mahmoud, 22, of Malaysia recently made a successful debut in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Destiny of Champions” on December 7, 2018 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“ONE: Destiny of Champions” featured nine mixed martial arts matches and four Muay Thai contests. In the fourth bout of the evening, Mahmoud faced Stergos “Greek Dynamite” Mikkios, 28, of Greece and the United States in a Muay Thai bout in the bantamweight division.
Referee Atsushi Onari put a stop to the Muay Thai bantamweight contest between Mahmoud and Mikkios after 2 minutes and 20 seconds in the first round. The Malaysian fighter knocked out his Greek-American opponent.
Mahmoud sent the crowd at the Axiata Arena into a frenzy after knocking out Mikkios. The Malaysian fighter’s world-class striking was on full display as he easily picked his spots, including a razor-sharp elbow that dazed his Greek-American opponent.
Moreover, Mahmoud capitalized on Mikkios’ vulnerable state to score a knockdown with a dazzling combination of strikes. Although Mikkios managed to beat the count, Mahmoud dropped him once again, this time with the Greek fighter signaling to Onari that he could no longer continue.
The victory improved Mahmoud’s professional Muay Thai record to 31 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Mikkios now has 19 wins, 11 losses and 2 draws.
