Fighting out of Bangkok, Thailand, Petchmorrakot Petchyindee Academy, 24, has earned his second victory in ONE Championship’s striking league ONE Super Series. The Thai martial artist was one of the winners at “ONE: Destiny of Champions” on December 7, 2018 at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Featuring seven mixed martial arts matches and four Muay Thai contests, “ONE: Destiny of Champions” was the last ONE Championship event in 2018. In the eighth bout of the evening, Petchmorrakot faced Liam “The Hitman” Harrison, 33, of Leeds, England, United Kingdom in a Muay Thai bout in the featherweight division.

By way of knockout, Harrison lost to Petchmorrakot, who is known for his sharp elbow shots. After a spirited first round of action that saw both men land significant strikes, the Thai contender ended matters abruptly in the second frame.

Petchmorrakot landed an elbow right on the button and Harrison was unable to recover. In the end, referee Atsushi Onari raised the hand of the Thai contender, who was declared the winner via knockout in the second round.

This was the second time Petchmorrakot won in ONE Super Series. When he made his successful debut in the league at “ONE: Pinnacle of Power” at the Studio City Event Center in Macau, China on June 23, 2018, he knocked out “The Funky Drummer” Fabrice Fairtex Delannon, 36, of French Guiana.

The first time Petchmorrakot lost in ONE Super Series was on October 6, 2018 at “ONE: Kingdom of Heroes” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok. He lost to Alaverdi “Dagger” Ramazanov, 23, of Russia via unanimous decision.

Winning at “ONE: Destiny of Champions” improved Petchmorrakot’s record to 157 wins, 34 losses and 2 draws. On the other hand, Harrison now has 84 wins, 23 losses and 2 draws.

Including Thailand and the United Kingdom, 16 countries were represented at “ONE: Destiny of Champions.” The other countries were Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, Greece, Indonesia, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine and the United States.
