‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 15 episode 9: ‘Shelter from the Storm’ by Bob Dylan

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15 episode 9 is titled “Shelter from the Storm.” It will air on ABC on January 17, 2019 at 8:00 p.m.

Episode 8 is titled “Blowin’ in the Wind.” It was named after the song of the same name by Bob Dylan, which he recorded in 1962 and released in 1963 on his second studio album titled “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan.”

Aired on November 15, 2018, “Blowin’ in the Wind” ended with three elevator cliffhangers. In the episode, Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) was back in charge at the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital since Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Dr. Jo Karev (Camilla Luddington) were stuck at home due to the major wind storm that hit Seattle.

The storm knocked down a power pole and knocked the power out. “Grey’s Anatomy” viewers will see in “Shelter from the Storm” what happens to the three groups of doctors stuck in separate elevators.

In the first elevator are Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Dr. Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). Following the advice of CeCe Colvin (Caroline Clay), Meredith agreed to go on a date with Dr. Atticus “Link” Lincoln (Chris Carmack).

DeLuca was not giving up so he asked Meredith out but she walked away. While on their way to work on a patient in the OR, they got trapped in an elevator together.

CeCe, Bailey and Dr. Taryn Helm (Jaicy Elliot) are trapped in the second elevator with a dead body. In the third elevator are Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), Dr. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) and Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).

Over surgery, Teddy revealed to Owen that she was carrying his child and ran out to deal with a new patient. While Owen was following Teddy, Amelia was following Owen to tell him that she wanted to adopt Betty Nelson (Peyton Kennedy) then the three doctors got on the same elevator with Teddy’s new patient when the power went out.

Before the three groups were stuck in the elevators, Dr. Nico Kim (Alex Landi) and Dr. Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) were stuck inside an ambulance outside of the hospital. They had sex after a fight.

Directed by Jann Turner, “Shelter from the Storm” will also feature Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams), Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary), Dr. Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) and Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George). Will Sasso is returning as a hospital maintenance worker while Stephanie Lesh-Farell is making her “Grey’s Anatomy” debut as a therapist.

Overall, “Shelter from the Storm” will be the 326th episode of the ABC medical drama series. It was named after the song of the same name by Dylan, which was recorded on September 17, 1974 and released in 1975 on his 15th studio album titled “Blood on the Tracks.”

Sources told TVLine that there will be a special episode in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 15 in 2019. Wilson will direct the episode and the story line will be medicine-free, according to the sources.
