Catriona Gray, 25, of the Philippines and Sonia Fergina Citra, 25, of Indonesia were roommates when they competed at Miss Universe 2018. The two are set to reunite sometime in 2019.

Gray was crowned Miss Universe 2018 in Thailand on December 17, 2018. After her coronation, she spent her year-end vacation in the Philippines and now she is in New York, United States where she will stay for a year to fulfill her duties as the 67th Miss Universe.

On January 8, 2018, Gray was on her second day of her media tour as Miss Universe 2018. She was interviewed live on the WNYW Fox 5 morning show “Good Day New York” by Rosanna Scotto, 60, and Lori Strokes, 56.

On “Good Day New York,” Gray was asked about her next activities. She revealed that she is scheduled to visit the home country of her Miss Universe 2018 roommate.

Citra finished in the Top 20 in Miss Universe 2018. This made her the sixth woman from Indonesia to place in Miss Universe.

The youngest of seven children, Citra was born in Tanjung Pandan, Bangka Belitung, Indonesia on April 27, 1993. Her first major beauty pageant was Putri Pariwisata Indonesia 2010 where she finished in the Top 10.

The Tanjung Pandan native made it to the Top 6 in Miss Oriental Tourism 2012. Representing Bangka Belitung, she was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2018 on March 9, 2018 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia by Puteri Indonesia 2017 Bunga Jelitha.

Both Citra and Gray are martial artists. The Indonesian beauty queen loves Muay Thai, taekwondo and capoeira while the reigning Miss Universe is a black belt in choi kwan do.

Moreover, both Citra and Gray are active in various social causes. The reigning Puteri Indonesia is involved in environmental conservation activities related to coral reef adoption at the Tanjung Kelayang beach in Belitung, Indonesia.

On the other hand, Gray is a volunteer in Young Focus, a nonprofit based in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. She discussed how the organization provides free quality education to Tondo children during her media tour in New York.
