‘The Masked Singer’ Season 1 episode 3 spoilers: ‘Community’ alums Ken Jeong, Joel McHale reunite

Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger and Jenny McCarthy will not be the only people in the judging panel in “The Masked Singer” Season 1 episode 3 titled “Five Masks No More.” They will be joined by Joel McHale in the Fox reality singing competition show hosted by Nick Cannon.

This marks the reunion of Jeong and McHale on the small screen. The co-starred in “Community” from 2009 to 2015.

On January 2, 2019, “The Masked Singer” Season 1 premiered on Fox with an episode titled “Mask on Face Off.” Six of the 12 mystery contestants performed and The Hippo was unmasked and revealed to be NFL player Antonio Brown.

“The Masked Singer” showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra told The Wrap that the five contestants who were not unmasked in episode 1 will perform in episode 3. They are the Peacock, the Monster, the Unicorn, the Deer and the Lion.

“Basically, the show moving forward, you’ll see Group A again in Show 3 and they will.. essentially, we give you a whole load of new clues,” Ibarra said. “They will perform individually and the panel and the studio audience vote and the person that was not everybody’s favorite, the worst singer of that night, the worst performer of the night, will go home and be unmasked.”

Aside from judging in “The Masked Singer,” Jeong also plays Luther H. Gillis in “Magnum P.I.” He is also set to star in several 2019 films including “Boss Level,” “My Spy,” “Elsewhere” and “Occupation Rainfall.”

On the other hand, McHale is set to play Judge Lepetri in the comedy film “Stuck.” He will also star in the thriller “Dark Harbor” with Xander Berkeley and Reiko Aylesworth.

On the small screen, McHale is set to play Sylvester Pemberton/Starman in “Stargirl.” On January 23, 2019, he will also return as a guest panelist in “The Masked Singer” episode 4 titled “Another Mask Bites the Dust” featuring the performances of the Rabbit, the Alien, the Raven, the Poodle and the Bee.

“Five Masks No More” will air on Fox on January 16, 2019. Here is a clip featuring Jeong and McHale:
