The Treigning Lab’s Juan Archuleta earns 4th Bellator MMA win, beats Ricky Bandejas at ‘Bellator 214’

Juan “Spaniard” Archuleta, 31, was one of the winners at “Bellator 214,” which marked his fourth win in Bellator MMA. He is one of the founding members of The Treigning Lab in Anaheim, Orange County, Los Angeles, California, United States.

Featuring 14 mixed martial arts matches, “Bellator 214” took place at The Forum in Inglewood, California on January 26, 2019. In the 10th bout of the evening, Archuleta faced Ricky Bandejas, 27, of Brick, New Jersey, USA in the bantamweight division.

After three five-minute rounds, the featherweight bout between Archuleta and Sandejas was left in the hands of the judges, who all scored the bout 29-28. In the end, referee Frank Trigg raised the hand of The Treigning Lab fighter, who was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Winning at “Bellator 214” improved Archuleta’s professional MMA record to 22 wins and 1 loss. On the other hand, Bandejas now has 11 wins and 2 losses.

Born and raised in Hesperia, California, Archuleta went to Sultana High School and Purdue University. When he was a student, he competed in wrestling.

As an MMA fighter, Archuleta has been competing professionally since 2013. The only time he lost so far was on March 28, 2015 when he was submitted via triangle choke by Andres “The Punisher” Ponce, 25, of Yuma, Arizona, USA at “WSOF 19.”

On March 2, 2018, Archuleta made a successful debut in Bellator MMA. He defeated William “The Armadillo” Joplin, 40, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA via unanimous decision at “Bellator 195.”

On June 29, 2018, Archuleta knocked out Robbie “Problems” Peralta, 32, of Escondido, California via punches at “Bellator 201.” On November 30, 2018, the Hesperia native earned his third Bellator MMA win by defeating Jeremy “Spooner” Spoon, 33, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, USA via unanimous decision at “Bellator 210.”

Among Archuleta’s The Treigning Lab teammates are reigning UFC Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw and Bellator MMA fighter Aaron Pico, 22, of Whittier, California. Dillashaw was in Archuleta’s corner at “Bellator 214,” which Pico co-headlined with his fellow Whittier resident Henry “OK” Corrales, 32.

Pico and Corrales competed in the featherweight division at “Bellator 214.” The latter knocked out the former in the first round.

For Archuleta, Dillashaw is a reliable teammate. Before “Bellator 214,” the Bellator MMA fighter told MMA Fighting that the UFC champ had been with him all week helping him get ready for his fight against Bandejas.
