Hamza Kooheji, 26, has been competing in Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion Brave Combat Federation since 2016. He recently shared his prediction for the main event of “Brave 22: Storm of Warriors,” the first ever Brave CF event to be held in the Philippines.
“Brave 22: Storm of Warriors” will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 15, 2019. It will be headlined by reigning Brave CF Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, of the Philippines and former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France.
In an attempt to dethrone Loman, Boudegzdame will move from featherweight to bantamweight. Also competing in Brave CF’s bantamweight division, Kooheji feels that the Filipino defending champion’s game might be too much for the French challenger to handle on fight night but hoped for the best man to capture the belt.
“Stephen Loman has proved his skills more than other fighters and has defended his belt more than any other champion,” Kooheji stated. “It’s very tough to beat him, especially in five rounds. He pushes through five rounds, he broke his nose (and he) had a lot of hard times in fights but always pushed through.”
“Elias was the champion at a weight class above his own and has fought and beat bigger guys,” the Bahraini MMA fighter added. “I don’t know who will win. Elias is my friend and I hope the best man wins.”
Training out of Team Lakay in Baguio City, Philippines, Loman holds a professional MMA record of 12 wins and 2 losses. He is coming out of two successful title defenses against Frans “The Black Mamba” Mlambo, 27, of Ireland at “Brave 13: European Evolution” at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Felipe Efrain, 25, of Brazil on June 9, 2018 at “Brave 18” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on November 16, 2018.
Currently with 15 wins and 5 losses, Boudegzdame is coming out of a loss to Bubba “Bad Man” Jenkins, 30, of the United States. The latter dethroned the former as the Brave CF Featherweight Champion at “Brave 16” at the Mubadla Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on September 21, 2018.
On the other hand, Kooheji has 8 wins and 2 losses. He defeated five of the six opponents he faced in Brave CF including Loman’s Team Lakay teammates Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw, 22, and Crisanto “The Slugger” Pitpitunge, 31.
